Two fires, gas cylinder explosion in UAE cafe

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Two fire incidents and a gas cylinder explosion were reported in Ajman on Monday. No casualties were reported, according to an official at the Ajman Civil Defence.
Lt-Col Raed Obeid Al Zaabi, deputy director of the fire stations department, said their operations centre received the reports about the three separate incidents almost at the same time.
In the first one, fire erupted in a flat in Al Naeemiya area. Fire fighters were dispatched and they managed to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to other units in the residential building. The second blaze took place in the new industrial area in Al Jarf, engulfing a packing factory for food items. Thick, black smoke covered the area due to the nature of materials stored in the facility. All workers were evacuated safely, Lt-Col Al Zaabi said.
The gas cylinder explosion, on the other hand, happened in a cafeteria in Al Nuaimiya area, with the loud blast sending residents into a panic. The building, where the cafe is located, and the two cars parked in front of it were damaged. Investigations are under way to determine the cause of the incidents.
