African continent urged to bolster food trade

(MENAFN) Nations of the African continent ought to strengthen their cooperation in trade, mainly in food trade, emphasized chief director of Trade Invest Africa at the Department of Trade and Industry, John Rocha.

Addressing the Africa Big 7 exhibition, the South African official revealed that Africa is expected to allocate as much as USD50 billion in food imports during 2019.

Rocha stated: "we can no longer afford to lose this much-needed income and opportunity to increase trade amongst us and to build stronger developed trading partners."

He further added that trade among African countries is witnessing massive growth potential only in case they match supply and demand.
