Miss World Guyana 2019

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – Joylyn Anita Conway is Miss World Guyana 2019 following a selection process by a panel of nine judges. She will represent Guyana at the Miss World competition in Thailand later this year.

Joylyn Conway was crowned by Miss World Guyana 2018, Ambika Ramraj at a small but elegant event held at the Pegasus International Hotel, June 23rd, 2019. Conway is a proud Berbician and a Natural Science enthusiast with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry and a minor in Biology from the University of Guyana.

She is currently a Lecturer and Lab Instructor attached to the University of Guyana and the New Amsterdam Technical Institute. She is a strong believer in her faith as a communicant Methodist. Her mantra, 'aspire to inspire before you expire' encompasses much of her hobbies – teaching, dancing, volunteering, coaching young women and children on personal development. She also enjoys traveling, trying new foods and putting smiles on frowned faces.

At the Rotaract's handing over and induction ceremony June 22nd, Joylyn was elected secretary and president-elect respectively, for 2019 – 2021.

Joylyn Conway lives by the quote 'it costs nothing to light another candle' hence, her mission is to inspire girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) to embrace their dreams with confidence and beauty, utilizing the purpose project 'Stem Girl Glo'.
