Kuwaiti officials affirm strong partnership with Jordan in media forum


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, June 24 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti officials taking part in the Jordanian-Kuwaiti Media Forum affirmed that the event is an opportunity for boosting the two countries' partnership on different levels.
The remarks were made by the officials to KUNA on Monday, on the sidelines of an exhibition held as part of the forum, which concluded its sessions today.
The participation of Kuwait Martyrs Office in the exhibition aims to provide information on the number of Jordanian martyrs in Kuwait, said senior official at the office Salah Al-Oufan
He added that there are 16 Jordanians who sacrificed their lives to liberate Kuwait during the Iraqi Invasion in 1990.
The event is an opportunity to shed light on the office's tasks and care provided to the martyrs' families, said Al-Oufan. Kuwait is proud to have 1,272 martyrs of 16 nationalities who gave their lives to defend its land, he said.
The official also noted that the Kuwaiti delegation met with Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, who hailed Kuwait's role in promoting peace and supporting Arab and humanitarian issues.
On her part, official at the media department of the General Secretariat of Awqaf Dhoha Al-Otaibi said that the secretariat aims to showcase its projects that could be executed in Arab and Muslim countries.
These projects cover different fields including education, Islamic sciences and special needs children, she added.
The forum was also attended by officials from the Civil Service Commission, the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) and Kuwait Municipality. (end)
