Bus driver who sexually assaulted passenger jailed in Dubai

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A bus driver, who sexually assaulted a passenger, was sentenced to three years in jail by a Dubai court on Sunday.

Public prosecution records showed that when the 27-year-old Pakistani man saw that the Tajik woman was the only one left on the bus, he pulled over at a location away from residential buildings and sexually assaulted her.

He covered her mouth with his hand as she tried to scream for help. He slapped and choked her, while threatening that he would bring in his friends to rape and kill her, the victim claimed. He also begged her not to report him to the police, saying that he would kill himself if she did.

A forensic report confirmed that the driver sexually assaulted the woman.

The Dubai Court of First Instance also ordered his deportation.
