Arab Finance Ministers reiterate financial support to Palestinians


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 23 (KUNA) -- Arab Finance Ministers echoed keenness on implementing Arab resolutions concerning the USD-100-million-Palestinian financial safety net with each country paying its monthly share as stipulated by the bloc's budget.
The final communique of the Arab Finance Ministers meeting, chaired by Tunisia, called for putting into effect all resolutions supporting the State of Palestinian to face financial pressure and crises through the Arab League Secretariat or directly with the Palestinian Ministry of Finance.
The statement renewed the Arabs' support for full Palestinian political, economic and financial sovereignty and security.
It condemned Israeli cyber piracy syphoning Palestinian public wealth, calling on the global community to condemn and pressure the Israeli government to halt such illegal acts and fully return wealth to the Palestinians.
The Arab countries were urged to provide soft-loans within the framework of the financial safety net in cooperation with the Palestinian authority, indicated the final communique, pointing out that the financial aid will be used to support development and infrastructure projects.
It went on to say that Arab funds, banks, and financial institutions were welcomed to provide finances through the financial safety net or directly towards the Palestinian authority.
The final communique also stressed the importance of encouraging all efforts and means of cooperation to help aid Palestinian government and non-government organizations. (end)
