The legend of Chinese poetry

(MENAFN) A domestic musical was staged for the famous poet Qu Yuan
The festival combined between reality and imagination by feeling what the poet felt in his best known works also reading his emotions through them.

The event was at the Beijing Century Theater on June 7 before China's Dragon Boat Festival which falls on June 7.

This festival also reminded people of Qu's tragic death where he drowned himself in the Miluo River after he was charged of treason for his advice to the king that was well intended.

A tradition was made in china that people on this day race boats to find the poet's body in the river and drop rice in the water hoping that it would prevent fish from eating Qu's body.

The musical will also be performed at a cultural park by the Miluo River from June 6 to 10.
