Rwanda launches financial project aims at boosting energy efficient cooling systems

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Rwanda launched a financial project aims at enhancing the nation's attempts to develop clean, environmentally friendly and energy efficient cooling systems.

Vincent Biruta, Rwandan minister of environment stated at the launch in Kigali, capital city of Rwanda, "The financial scheme we have launched today is an important factor in Rwanda's journey to advance clean cooling, meet our obligations under the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer and play our part to address climate change crisis".

The advanced financial mechanism called Coolease Financial Mechanism responds to the requirements of the two consumers and suppliers to access efficient cooling systems that the nation wants in order to phase out ozone-depleting greenhouse gases used as refrigerants, emphasized Biruta.

He affirmed that by providing efficient cooling systems, Rwanda can also promote hospital injection and medication storage and agricultural cold chain facilities.
