Kuwait- Kenyan official hails Amir's global peace role


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 18 (KUNA) -- Chief Administrative Secretary of the Kenyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ababu Namwamba on Tuesday praised the role of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in achieving international peace and his mediation efforts to heal the Gulf rift.
The Kenyan official praised the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) for its vital projects in his country, including the rehabilitation of irrigation facilities, hospitals development, schools and roads construction.
For his part, Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for Africa Affairs Ambassador Hamad Al-Mashaan confirmed the invitation to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah to attend the African High-Level Regional Conference on Counter-Terrorism and Prevention of Extremism Leading to Terrorism, scheduled to be held in Nairobi on July 10-11.
He also welcomed the joint invitation by Kenyan Foreign Minister Monica Goma and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office Vladimir Voronkov to attend the conference, confirming Kuwait's readiness to make this conference a success through its effective and appropriate participation.
Al-Mashaan extended an invitation to Namwamba to visit Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Al-Mashaan and the Kenyan Secretary General of the National Treasury discussed the development projects sponsored by KFAED in Kenya and the obstacles that hinder some of them. (end)
