Minor drop likely in Q2 German economy

(MENAFN) Germany's central bank Bundesbank revealed that the economy "should shrink slightly" in the country during this year's second quarter.

In a monthly report, the central bank explained: "special effects that contributed to a noticeable rise in gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter (of the current year) are either expiring or being reversed."

"Rebound effects", the central bank noted, are likely to strike the construction industry in Germany after witnessing accelerated businesses over good weather conditions.

Bundesbank further added that clients of German vehicle firms are forecast for car acquisitions after a delay over the launch of Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).
