(MENAFN) Rwanda registered an 8.4 percent boost in its gross domestic product (GDP) from January to March 2019, revealed the National Institute of Statistics.
Deputy Director General of the statistics body Ivan Murenzi attributed this jump to solid activities in service, agriculture, and industry fields.
Service sector, during the first quarter, accounted for 48 percent of the GDP in Rwanda while agriculture amounted for 28 percent and industry contributed with 17 percent, the official unveiled.
Murenzi further added that during the period, GDP at current prices stood at around USD2.4 billion to climb from USD2.2 billion on annual basis.
