12.9 percent boost in Chinese natural gas production


(MENAFN) China produced 14.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the fifth month of 2019, marking a 12.9 percent jump on annual basis.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, this comes after a 7.9 percent of surge China witnessed in its natural gas production for April.

From January to May, output of natural gas in China stood at 72.5 billion cubic meters to indicate a 9.8 percent boost compared to 2018.

Last month, China imported 7.56 million tonnes of natural gas to achieve a rise by 2 percent while its imports during the five-month period increased 13.4 percent at 39.43 million tonnes.
