RO600 fee to apply for Omani citizenship

H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, has issued a decision (No 92/2019) on the executive regulations of the Omani Citizenship Law.




The decision elaborates on the fees required for regaining, renouncing and applying for citizenship.


The decision states that an RO200 fee has to be paid to apply for regaining or renouncing Omani citizenship and RO600 to apply for the citizenship.


It also states that an RO300 has to be paid to apply for citizenship for an expatriate wife of an Omani, widowed or divorced.


To apply for the citizenship of a minor son of an Omani woman, the applicant must pay RO300 as well. The decision was issued on June 2.


It will be effective from the date of its publication in the official gazette.
