Customs officers foil Syrian trucker's bid to smuggle in 1,700 narcotic pills

KUWAIT CITY, June 16: Customs officers at the Salmi borders foiled an attempt by a Syrian trucker to smuggle into the country 1,700 pills of illicit drugs 'Captagon' carefully hidden in a truck. The man aroused suspicion of the officers upon his arrival to the checkpoint and they conducted a thorough check in his truck where the hidden drugs were found. He has since been referred to prosecution.


Meanwhile, an unidentified Egyptian, born in 1983, has been arrested and referred to the General Department of Drugs Control for possessing a narcotics or rather a piece of drugs believed to be cannabis, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the suspect was arrested while driving in Jahra because he looked abnormal. A security source said the man is expected to be deported from the country.
