Algeria's Sonatrach, Galp renew gas agreement

(MENAFN) Algeria's Sonatrach announced the renewal of a deal with Portuguese energy firm Galp for Portugal to keep on receiving Algerian gas for another ten years.

Portugal, as per the extended contract, will be granted 2.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year over a ten-year period from the Algerian energy giant.

Back in 1994, a partnership deal was sealed between Algeria and Portugal and was renewed for ten years.

Sonatrach penned on May this year a pact with Italian energy giant ENI, also renewing the export of Algerian gas to Italy for a decade.
