9 percent economic growth in Ethiopia targeted

(MENAFN) Ethiopia Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) announced that the country set a target to log 9 percent in its economic development for the 2019-20 fiscal year.

Minister of Finance and Economy (MoFE) Ahmed Shide confirmed, as EBC suggested in its report, that Ethiopia is looking to boost the efficiency of government bodies in using their budgets for the economic growth target to be secured.

In order to achieve such a purpose, Ethiopia is mulling over the introduction of improved tax revenue collection systems along with reinforcing its macroeconomic conditions, the minister revealed.

This comes following the approval of a budget valued at USD13.45 billion by the Ethiopia Council of Ministers for the upcoming fiscal year.
