Morocco sees increase in number of tourist arrivals in Q1 of 2019

(MENAFN) On Monday, Moroccan Tourism Observatory stated that more than 3.6 million tourists visited Morocco in the first four months of 2019, which indicates an increase in comparison to 2018.

In 2018, the number of tourists visited Morocco saw an increase by 8.3 percent in comparison to 2017.

The increase was mostly driven by the continued increase in the tourists from the traditional European markets, as statistics showed an increase of 14 percent in U.S. tourist arrivals, 13 percent in Italian tourists, 9 percent in French and Spanish tourists, 8 percent in German tourists.

During the period from January to April, the numbers of foreign tourists increased by 5.3 percent while the arrivals of Moroccan expatriates increased by 7.8 percent, according to the Observatory statistics.
