Saudi- Umrah Weekly Indicator: Kingdom receives over 7,3 million Umrah performers and issues 7,6 million Umrah visas

Riyadh, June 07, 2019, SPA -- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which launched the Umrah weekly indicator at the beginning of Hijri year 1440, released the weekly stats till Thursday (June 6) after accessing information such as the number of visas issued, number of Umrah performers visiting the Kingdom via air, land or sea, and how many would be in Makkah and Madinah.
The number of Umrah visas issued until 3 Shawwal 1440 H (June. 6, 2019) reached 7,626,161 visas with the number of Umrah performers arriving in the Kingdom being 7,307,356 Umrah performers.
Meanwhile, the number of Umrah performers still in the Kingdom is 901,933 Umrah performers, with 533,538 Umrah performers in Makkah and 368,395 in Madinah, and 6,405,423 Umrah performers leaving the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after completing Umrah rituals, according to the weekly data.
The weekly data also included the number of Saudi staff within Umrah companies and institutions. They are 10,946 Saudis including 9,074 males and 1,872 females.
Most Umrah performers arrived in the Kingdom via air with a total of 6,470,368 Umrah performers while 703,478 entered by land entry point and 133,510 Umrah performers arrived via seaports.
According to the Ministry, the highest number of Umrah performers of various nationalities, entering the Kingdom is 1,626,080 Pakistanis, 950,748 Indonesians, 645,256 Indians, 538,940
Egyptians, 365,599 Algerians, 337,812 Yemenis, 310,845 Turkish, 277,224 Malaysians, 271,290 Iraqis, and 214,270 Sudanese.
The weekly indicator was launched to enable authorities to track the number of Umrah performers coming into the Kingdom, and in turn, to enrich their experiences by providing high-quality services.
The indicator focuses on 5 main aspects which are the number of issued visas, the total number of Umrah performers arriving in the Kingdom via air, land, and sea ports, number of Umrah performers in Makkah and Madinah, and the number of Umrah performers leaving the Kingdom after completing Umrah rituals.
This initiative is one of the main aims of Saudi Vision 2030, which aspires to attract over 30 million Umrah performers and provide them with excellent services and an outstanding experience.
