Foreign firms to perform oil, gas drilling in Bahrain

(MENAFN) Bahrain's Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa issued a decree, allowing foreign firms to perform oil and gas drilling activities within the GCC nation.

Under the decision, foreign firms are now able to own 100 percent of oil and gas drilling activities as per a deal with the Bahraini government.

This agreement was secured for the right of oil and gas exploration and output in Bahrain.

In 2018, Bahrain was declared to have detected 80 billion barrels of oil and 10-20 trillion cubic feet of deep gas resources off its west coast.
