Reports: Qatar, Kuwait to use Iraqi pipelines for export

(MENAFN) Reports suggested that a plan is being studied by Qatar and Kuwait to start employing Iraqi pipelines for exports amid tensions between the United States and Iran.

Using Iraqi pipelines, oil and gas shipments will arrive north via Kurdistan to a Turkish port for export, an oil and gas website reported.

"Disrupting the oil trade could send oil prices upward, making it more expensive for Americans to fill up their gas tanks as part of Iran's plan to make the US and its allies feel economic pain," oilandgas360.com said.

It comes after the U.S. started imposing sanctions against Iran and tightening its restrictive measures against the Islamic Republic's oil.
