Jordan- Ississ meets British minister to follow up on London Initiative 2019

Amman, May 26 (Petra) -- Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohamad Ississ on Sunday met with the British Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Department for International Development Andrew Murrison to discuss the outcomes of the London Initiative 2019 conference.
The two sides discussed economic reforms carried out by Jordan as part of a five-year plan to boost growth and investments in a bid to create job opportunities and achieve self-reliance.
The meeting also discussed means of bolstering bilateral cooperation and regional developments. Ississ briefed Murrison on the economic situation in the Kingdom and the efforts exerted to promote growth and create job opportunities, as well as the governments priorities for the next phase.
Ississ praised the United Kingdom for its support to Jordan to overcome economic challenges arising from regional instability and the burdens of hosting Syrian refugees, as well as its direct support through convening the London Initiative 2019 in February.
For his part, Murrison expressed his understanding of what the Kingdom is going through, underscoring that the UK stands in support of Jordan in international forums.
