DUBAI, 26th May, 2019 (WAM) -- For the second consecutive year, the UAE Water Aid Foundation, Suqia, under the umbrella of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, will take part in the 'Their Suhoor is on Us' initiative, aimed at distributing Suhoor meals to workers during the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the campaign, organised by the Community Development Authority's Youth Council, Suqia also provided 48,000 water cups.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Suqia, commended the initiative, noting, "In the month of giving, we recall the worthy values and principles established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who instilled the foundations of humanitarian work in the UAE. We are committed to strengthening social responsibility, consolidating volunteering among the staff, and encouraging them to participate in various community and charity initiatives and programmes."
Stating that the spirit of giving brings people together and holds special meaning during the Ramadan, Mohammed Abdulkareem Al Shamsi, Acting Executive Director of Suqia, said, "Suqia participates in several charity and volunteer programmes and activities throughout the Holy Month, inside and outside the UAE, in partnership with Mai Dubai and in collaboration with 14 local charities and foundations."
