Chinese Vice Pres. arrives in Pakistan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, May 26 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi received Vice President of China Wang Qishan who arrived in Islamabad on Sunday on a three-day official visit to Pakistan.
During the visit, the Chinese Vice President will call on President of Pakistan Arif Alvi and have a separate meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, according to Pakistan Foreign Office.
Pakistan and China will sign MoUs and agreements and inaugurate projects to enhance bilateral cooperation in a broad range of areas, it said.
The visit of the Chinese Vice President will reinforce the strength of bilateral ties and impart further impetus to the growing, multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields, said Foreign Office.
Talking to media, Qureshi said the visiting dignitary will also inaugurate some of the projects and five Memorandums of Understanding will be signed during the visit.
He said visit of the Chinese Vice President indicates strong ties between Islamabad and Beijing and demonstrates resolve of the two countries in developing and promoting China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
The visit is a continuation of the high-level exchanges between the two countries, which have acquired an increased momentum since the Prime Minister's visit to China for his participation in the 2nd Belt and Road Forum in Beijing in April this year. (end)
