Oman's refinery output rises 7% in first 4 months of 2019


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Total production of oil refineries and petroleum industries in Oman rose 7 per cent in the first four months of 2019 compared to the output recorded in the same period of last year.
Production of regular grade petrol (Mogas 91) rose 11 per cent at the end of April to 5.274mn barrels compared to the same period of last year. Domestic sales of Mogas 91 grew 12 per cent to 3.571mn barrels, while its exports reached 1.957mn barrels, according to statistics released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Production of super grade petrol (Mogas 95) jumped 25 per cent to 4.307mn barrels in the first four months of 2019, as the domestic sales for Mogas 95 surged 42 per cent to 4.098mn barrels, while exports reached 544,000 barrels.


Total output of diesel decreased 3 per cent to 8.814mn barrels in April. Domestic sales of diesel rose 19 per cent to 5.185mn barrels, while its exports decreased 8 per cent to 3.909mn barrels compared to the same period of last year.


Moreover, jet fuel production recorded a 11 per cent increase to 4.774mn barrels in the four months to April. Domestic sales of jet fuel increased 3 per cent to 1.593mn barrels and exports rose 16 per cent to 3.213mn barrels.


Oman's production of the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rose 10 per cent to 2.531mn barrels. Sales of LPG increased 1 per cent to 891,000 barrels while its exports jumped 19 per cent to 1.664mn barrels.
