Oman- Team distributes over 470 Ramadan baskets


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Voluntary team Nidaa al Khairi is truly showing what Ramadan means – sharing and compassion for the needy.
The charitable team has distributed more than 470 Ramadan baskets and 500 vouchers for social security and limited income families since the beginning of Ramadan.
Speaking to Muscat Daily Rahma Nasser Mohammed al Ameri, manager of the team, said, 'The team was founded in 2012 and consists of 17 members and more than 150 volunteers. The team works under the umbrella of a social development committee in the wilayat of Bausher. Our team has conducted several programmes that focuses on conducting campaigns and helping social security families in various ways.'


The team also distributes iftar meals daily at traffic lights.

'Some of the other programmes undertaken by our group include home maintenance for social security families, mass weddings, recycling materials such as plastic and paper. We have another programme called Family Empowerment Program. This programme is carried out in cooperation with some government and private agencies. The programme aims to train and help children of social security families and find a job for them. We have already managed to recruit more than 760 people,' said Rahma.
