Hundreds of people in S.Africa, Eswatini receive food aid from Turkish aid agency


(MENAFN) On Friday, Turkey's state-run aid agency provided food baskets and arranged breaking fast meals for huge numbers of fasting Muslims in South Africa and the Kingdom of Eswatini, which is previously known as Swaziland.

Mehmet Akif Sekerci, coordinator for the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) informed Anadolu Agency, "We distributed food parcels to more than four hundred Muslims in Soweto township in Johannesburg today".

Sekerci affirmed the receivers of the food aid happiness and satisfaction toward the move and voiced their appreciation to Turkey.

He affirmed that the move is considered as a part of assisting fasting Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan was which was carried out at Masjid ul Ummah that was also renewed by the agency.
