24 people killed in Kenya in heavy floods


(MENAFN) The local governor declared that over 34 people have died in floods from a flower-farm dam which cracked after days of torrential downpour in Kenya"s Rift Valley, as it swept across 450 homes.

Nakuru county governor, Lee Kinyanjui confirmed that up to 2,000 people have been influenced by the dam breakout on Wednesday night.

Engineers have been called to perform safety checks on another three close reservoirs.
