Doha: The joy of the holy month of Ramadan is best experienced when family and friends come together for a grand Iftar. Complementing this spirit of togetherness should be a meal that completes this picture. This is exactly what Wyndham Doha West Bay provides at their Layali Ramadan (Ramadan Nights) tent.

The second floor of the five-star hotel features an Iftar tent for this Ramadan, complete with stunning interiors and a lavish culinary experience curated especially for the occasion.

As one enters the tent, welcoming you right in the middle of the hall is dates and dry fruit counter that forms the perfect accompaniment to break your fast

The hot and cold salad bar to the right and left provide a selection of fresh salads along with varieties of cheese, hummus, and mutabal. For those of us wanting to start our meal on a bowl of soup, the tent provides harira soup along with lentil and foul.

The Iftar serving included local, regional and international delicacies along with live cooking stations - including Sushi, Italian, Mongolian, Indian and Arabic. 'We have chefs at all the stations preparing food as per the preference of the visitors. Also, some of the bread including those prepared in the tandoor and fried items like kibbeh are best served hot, said Kaoutar Elmcherqui, Marketing Managerat Wyndham.

The Asian station includes a mix of Chinese and Thai specialties like Tom Yum soup, Teppanyaki, fried rice, stir fry noodles and more. Moving on to the kebab station, one finds a variety of meat cooked to the right perfection - lamb kebab and shish tawook among others. Dishes like biryani, mixed grill, Ouzi - a braised lamb served on a bed of spiced rice and liver sauteed with pomegranate were a hit among patrons as could be seen with the rush at these stations.

Sweet Factory, as the name suggests is a room full of dessert, towards the end of the tent, was my personal favourite. A table laden with fruits, a variety of cheesecakes, chocolate, and carrot cakes stood opposite to assorted Arabic sweets including mouth melting Kunafa, Baklava, and Qatayef.

The ice cream station with signature flavours, ramadan juices, coffee and tea form the perfect way to end the meal.

The tent also features Kids Box - an exciting space for kids to play and explore.

Priced at QR198per person with 50% off for kids in the age group of 6 to 12 years, Wyndham also provides special prices for group booking.
