It is so great to see an Omani being the first Arabic writer to win such a big award. Oman should be proud of such writers. The country should use this achievement to promote itself. There is a need for Oman to be promoted through literature and Dr Jokha has just done that. She is an example for us to be more active and promote Oman through writing. We all have to add more to the award and be more proactive to make Oman proud. Because of Dr Jokha, the name Oman is trending all over social media and the world. This is an extraordinary feat for all Omanis. To make the award more impactful the country should also honour this lady and highlight her achievements both in Oman and the region so as to inspire others.

I am very happy on this win of an Omani writer because it is the first time an Arab woman has won this award. The win also came with the support of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said's support for Omani women. I believe that this win will promote sultanate as a tourist destination among other countries.

Dr Jokha Alharthi deserves this win because she has worked hard for years. Winning is good news for all, Arabs and Oman in particular. It is also a motivation for every writer to innovate. This award will also encourage cultural entities to support more Omani writers. The win will also promote the importance of translating works of Omani writers into other languages.

This achievement is the pride of every Omani and Arab author. Obtaining this award confirms that Arabic writing has a prestigious position. It confirms that an international award can be obtained through hard work and diligence. The achievement will also encourage every Omani writer to innovate and participate in international competitions and translate their work from Arabic to English.
