(MENAFN- Daily Outlook Afghanistan) KABUL - The new British Ambassador to Afghanistan, Alison Blake, haspresented her credentials to President Ashraf Ghani, according to a statementon Thursday.
'I am delighted to have arrived in Afghanistan, a country rich in historyand culture, with great promise and famous for its hospitality, AmbassadorBlake said after a meeting with President Ghani.
'I have received a warm welcome and look forward to getting to know thecountry and its people, she said.
'The UK has a lasting partnership with Afghanistan, and I look forward toworking with the Afghan government and all stakeholders to help build apeaceful, stable, democratic and prosperous future for all the people ofAfghanistan, she pledged.
Ambassador Blake's previous roles include British High Commissioner toBangladesh, Deputy High Commissioner Islamabad and Head of Conflict Group inthe Foreign and Commonwealth Office. (Pajhwok)
