(MENAFN- Leisure Plus) />Former Senior DIG Anura Senanayake was today ordered to appear in court on August 6 in relation to the case over the murder of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
Senanayake has been accused of concealing evidence in the murder case.
Thajudeen was found dead on May 17 in 2012 inside his car which had crashed into a wall in Kirulapone.
Initially the Police said he was killed in an accident but later it was found he had been killed.
Senanayake was accused of concealing evidence related to the alleged murder when he was the DIG.
Senanayake was arrested on May 23, 2016 over the case but was released on bail in June 2017. (Colombo Gazette)
