Turkey launches airstrikes against PKK positions in N. Iraq


(MENAFN) On Thursday, Turkish Defense Ministry stated that Turkish warplanes struck weapon emplacements and shelters used by PKK terror group in northern Iraq.

The ministry affirmed in a statement that air attacks were conducted in Hakurk region of northern Iraq.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK - considered as a terrorist group by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU - has been responsible for the deaths of approximately 40,000 people, including women and children.
