(MENAFN) On Wednesday, as many as four people were murdered and 12 more wounded in a car bomb attack in Somalia's capital Mogadishu, several police and medical sources emphasized.
A police officer who demanded to be unidentified informed Xinhua that a car filled with explosives blasted as police were checking vehicles in Mogadishu's Bondhere District, causing deaths and wounds.
The officer affirmed, "The blast happened in a traffic area at a police checkpoint, so far we can confirm four people died in the explosion. We are establishing more details on the incident".
Independent sources emphasized that there were a Somali military officer and her bodyguards among those who lost their lives while there was a politician among the wounded victims.
