Kuwait authorities serious in combating visa trading, eliminating it permanently


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, May 21: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) said 'the automated link between Kuwait and Egypt has been in operation for some time and the recruitment of workers has been done through it and that there is fruitful cooperation between Kuwait and Cairo in this regard,' reports Al- Rai daily quoting high level sources from PAM, reports Al-Rai daily.

'The results of the automated link with Egypt will appear in the near future and will positively refl ect on the Kuwaiti labor market vis-à-vis the Egyptian labor,' the sources said. Regarding the suspension of the Egyptian labor work permits for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) the source said that, this decision was taken by the Egyptian side without coordinating with the Kuwaiti side.


The sources said the decision damage the Kuwaiti companies and said they should coordinate with the Foreign Ministry to address the Egyptian side to overturn its decision and reconsider, and achieve its goal of protecting the employment of Egyptians without harming the interests of Kuwaiti companies.


The source stressed that 'the concerned authorities are serious in combating the trade in visa and eliminating it permanently, and the best proof of this is to refer all those who indulge in this trade to referral to the Public Prosecution, and some of them have been sentenced to imprisonment and a fine.'
