(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, May 21 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti members of parliament on Tuesday supported all measures ordered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber and government to safeguard national security.
They made the remarks in a statement adopted in response to the latest regional security, political and military developments.
They voiced much appreciation of "great efforts" exerted by His Highness the Amir, along with Kuwait's official position, for promoting regional security and peace.
The MPs also spoke highly of the wise policy adopted by His Highness the Amir in adopting positive neutrality towards existing conflicts, as well as eagerness for settling disputes by dialogue.
However, they underlined that all ministries and state bodies concerned should carry on their measures and keep the National Assembly posted on all preparations and arrangements on the basis of transparency.
They also stressed the significance of official mass media in covering all security and political circumstances and developments in a clear-cut and transparent manner.
Furthermore, citizens and residents, together with civil society organizations, should have some part in ensuring a successful emergency plan, according to the statement.
The MPs further called on citizens and residents to seek hard to shore up the country's national front and to promote national unity in the face of all surrounding challenges and perils. (end)
