Lebanese forces detain 4 suspected Syrian over terror charges

(MENAFN) On Monday, Lebanon's state security authorities detained four Syrians who are "members of terrorist groups," local media reported.

The four were rounded up due to charges of attacking the Lebanese army and a police station in Aarsal, northeast of Lebanon, in 2014, according to Elnashra, an online independent newspaper.

The detained people were sent to the judicial bodies for more probes and additional lawful measures.

At the beginning of 2019, Lebanon's state security body also detained Syrian nationals over connections with al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front and the Islamic State radical group.
