Poor families in Yemen's Aden receive food aid from Turkish charity

(MENAFN) On Sunday, one of Turkey's state-run agencies provided needy people and refugees Yemen's southern port city of Aden with food aid.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) provided poor families who were forced to leave from Hudaydah and Taiz cities to Aden with nearly 800 food packages.

AFAD's Yemen representative Burhan Aslan stated that approximately 18,000 food boxes will be sent during Ramadan in Aden, Marib and Taiz.

Yemen has been affected by aggression and disorder since 2014, when Houthi rebels invaded much of the nation, including the capital, Sanaa. The crisis increased in 2015 when a Saudi-led military coalition launched an overwhelming air campaign meant at rolling back Houthi territorial gains.
