Turkey declines in consumer confidence


(MENAFN) Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed on Tuesday the country to have registered a 13 percent decline in its consumer confidence index in May.

According to the statistical authority, more than 8 points were lost in the confidence consumer index during the month as it stood at 55.3.

TurkStat showed the consumer index to have recorded a 6.9 percent jump in April compared to the 59.4 reached in March.

Value of the index last year was between 72.7 and 57.6 to mark the best performance in July and the worst in October.
