Amman, May 20 (Petra) Prime Minister Omar Razzaz said Monday that his government had begun the evaluation of performance in all ministries and public institutions that provide service to citizens based on data from platforms that communicate with the government.
He spoke during a surprise visit to the West Amman Land Registration Department after the government received reports from two platforms that it offers a low-level service to the public.
Razzaz said the evaluation outcome "is absolutely unacceptable", adding that one of the platforms will again visit the department and the other institutions it had visited and recorded its observations, pledging that action will be taken against entities that do not act to improve their services.
He predicted that the real estate sector will pick up after the government announced a series of measures and exemptions to prop up the sector, including reducing the basic price offering of real estate by 20 per cent. He urged public sector employees to offer the best possible service to the public, particularly during the month of Ramadan.
