Somali forces detain 2 suspects over links to car bomb blast in Mogadishu


(MENAFN) Somalia's security forces arrested two suspects one of them was the driver of the explosive-laden vehicle that exploded in Somali capital Mogadishu on Sunday.

The deputy police commander, Zakia Hussein, emphasized that the explosion whivh occurred when a parked car loaded with explosive devices blasted at around 7 p.m. (1600 GMT) in Mogadishu's Hamarweyne district did not murder or wound anyone.

On Sunday, Hussein affirmed, "We do not have any injury or death. Two people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the explosion".

The explosion came at a time when Mogadishu is on high alert as police forces blocked the key roads of the capital to avoid probable attacks by terrorists.
