(MENAFN) U.S President Donald Trump has threatened Iran, saying that it will be devastated if a war erupts between the two countries.
He added: "If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran, Never threaten the United States again!"
The US has dispatched extra warships and jets to the Gulf in recent days.
However, Mr Trump's tweet notes a change in tone after recent efforts to reduce the probability of military conflict.
