(MENAFN) The school declared that previous Ohio State University doctor carried out acts of sexual assault against over 177 students in the past 24 years.
Ohio State president Michael Drake confirmed that an independent probe, which was conducted for 12 months, discovered that Richard Strauss, who passed away in 2005, carried out the assaults between 1979 and 1997, while working as a physician at the university.
Drake added:"The findings are shocking and painful to comprehend,", as the report also involved that school personnel at the time "had knowledge of complaints and concerns about Strauss' conduct as early as 1979 but failed to investigate or act meaningfully."
The president expressed it was "unacceptable" for the university that it couldn't stop the offensive acts, "as were the inadequate efforts to thoroughly investigate complaints raised by students and staff members."
