Jordan- Scorcher to hit Kingdom as of Wednesday

Amman, May 19 (Petra) -- The Kingdom will be affected by a dry hot air mass as of Wednesday, said the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) on Sunday.
Temperature will begin to rise gradually, and is expected to reach a high of 35 degrees Celsius on Wednesday during the daytime, which 6-7 degrees higher than average, and 41- 43 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley, Aqaba, and Dead Sea areas, JMD's latest analyses revealed.
Analyses of air masses and its movements showed the heatwave may peak on Friday, adding Amman is forecast to register a high of 38 degrees Celsius and 44- 45 degrees Celsius in the Jordan Valley, Aqaba, and Dead Sea areas, JMD's Director Hussein Momani told Petra.
He called on citizens to avoid direct exposure to the sun, especially at peak hours.
