Philippines resumes search for disappeared trainer aircraft


(MENAFN) The Philippine aviation authorities declared that search resumed to spot a uncounted trainer airplane with two people aboard that went missing on Friday shortly after departing in Occidental Mindoro province.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed that the double-engine Beechcraft Baron 55 jet's last seen position was 16 nautical miles south of San Jose town in Occidental Mindoro province before it disappeared at about 8:13 a.m. local time on Friday.

A Filipino pilot and a Saudi Arabian student were carried on board, according to CAAP.

The Philippine Air Force, the Philippine Navy, the Philippine Coast Guard, and a King Air private jet carried out an air and sea operation on Saturday however, they failed.
