(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) SRINAGAR — Wular Adbi Urdu Forum in collaboration with Bazmi Sukhan Ajas organised a day long Urdu Naatiya Mushaira here on Saturday.
According to forum communiqué, many prominent Urdu and Kashmiri poets from across the district participated in the Mushaira, which was presided over by noted literary activist Bashir Ajasi poet, Rafiq Raaz while Farooq Sumbali was the chief guest on the occasion.
Chairman Adbi Urdu Fourm Tariq Shabnum was also present.
In his presidential address, Bashir Ajasi said that holding Naatiya Mushairas was a good tradition as it provides poets a chance to give expression to their spiritual leanings.
Speaking on the occasion Mir Tariq Rasool Patron Kashmir Literary and Philosophical Foundation said since Kashmir has its own tradition of poetry of eulogy and holding Naatiya Mushairas. He said that people especially poets and literary activists should follow the tradition inorder to give a shape to inclusive literary and artistic expression.
Some of the prominent poets who participated in the Mushaira included Sagar Sarfraz,Manzoor Lone,Mehtab Manzoor,Farooq Simbili,Mir Tariq,Bashir Ajasi,Zahoor Ahmed,Midasor Shaheen and Abdul Razaq.
