(MENAFN) Professional basketball league the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) declared CEO of Deloitte Cathy Engelbert as its new Commissioner.
On Wednesday, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver confirmed that Engelbert will official be part of the WNBA as of July 17.
WNBA is waiting for Engelbert to conclude her four-year term as CEO of Deloitte.
NBA Commissioner Silver described Engelbert as "a world-class business leader with a deep connection to women's basketball, which makes her the ideal person to lead the WNBA into its next phase of growth."
Silver added: "the WNBA will benefit significantly from her more than 30 years of business and operational experience including revenue generation, sharp entrepreneurial instincts and proven management abilities."
