Jordan achieves better economic outlook: IMF

(MENAFN) Jordan must carry on its economic reforms, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) emphasized, highlighting an optimistic outlook and progress in its economy.

IMF Mission Chief Martin Cerisola underlined indications of economic rebound in Jordan, as it witnessed the re-operation of its borders with Iraq to allow a boost in exports.

Reforms, the IMF chief assured, would improve the living situation for citizens, calling for donors to help the Kingdom in a refugee issue.

According to an IMF report, "the recent London Initiative demonstrated that the international community is determined to continue to support Jordan in its efforts to tackle rigidities, reform the economy, and reduce its indebtedness."

It added: "implementation will be key to preserve stability and enhance growth and employment; adjustment and reform on the part of the authorities, and the fulfillment of pledges on the part of the donor community."
