(MENAFN) Lebanon was assured that it will receive assistance from Germany on means to handle a refugee issue as the country started hosting a massive number of Syrians.
In the Lebanese south of Sidon, Berlin State Minister of the Interior Andreas Geisel affirmed: "we are ready to offer help for Lebanon and its municipalities to support the country in hosting the big number of Syrian refugees."
"We are also ready to coordinate with Lebanese authorities to identify areas in which we can cooperate," the minister stressed.
During the visit, Geisel "discussed the necessity of supporting firefighters, and ways to assist them with training, whether in Sidon or in Berlin."
