Turkey to inaugurate major cargo terminal project next year

(MENAFN) Arkas Holding, a major logistics firm in Turkey, is ready next year to open its intermodal inland cargo terminal project "Railport".

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, head of the holding's port and terminal services group Ozgur Kalelioglu noted that the project has been in works for more than a decade.

According to the president, the project is similar to a port placed on land - dry port, and is set to be in the benefit of trucks and trains.

Turkey's Arkas Holding penned a USD60 million funding deal with the Europan Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Turkey.

"The financing agreement for the project, which has around $80 million investment value, showed foreign confidence in Turkey," Kalelioglu stated.
