Rwanda, Pink Mango C&D sign deal for garment factory


(MENAFN) Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and China's Pink Mango C&D were announced to have penned a deal on the construction of a "modern" garment factory.

In a statement, RDB confirmed that the planned factory will be established in Kigali Special Economic zone, located in the Rwandan capital.

Through the factory, garments will be manufactured for the domestic and export market as the country aims to strengthen its economy.

According to the statement, Rwandans will be the opening of 7,500 job opportunities through the factory, which is expected to generate USD20 million in cumulative export profits over a five-year period.

It further added that 500 employees of domestic garment cooperatives are likely to move to the new factory.
